Where to for a romantic holiday?
Filed Under Romantic Travel | Leave a Comment
We’re thinking, The Dhara Dhevi. It’s in Chiang Mai, Thailand. If that isn’t exotic enough for you, it’s mostly pool villas, with your own huge tub or pool, where you can hang out in the day ( skinny dipping optional ).
That’s if you’re not riding around on an elephant, visiting the padi fields, or enjoying a slow lunch on a private terrace. Prices are a little steep, but it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a memorable holiday, one that you’ll always want to relive again, and again.
If you’d prefer something a little more cosmopolitan, try New York, with it’s fantastic shopping, cosmopolitan vibe and Broadway hits, it’s just the thing to perk you up.

A Token of Love and Thanks
Filed Under About Love, Weddings | Leave a Comment
A small favor for your guests to take home is not required but is a lovely gesture. What you choose to bestow is not as important as that it was given and presented with thoughtful care. Favors are a simple way to thank guests for sharing your special day with you and are sweet reminders of the celebration.
Many brides choose to give favors at a wedding luncheon or formal wedding dinner, where the guest list is a more intimate gathering of family and close friends. This allows you to put more time and money into meaningful keepsakes than if you tried to give a favor to every guest at a larger scale wedding reception. However, some brides opt to send home small favors with everyone who attends their reception.

The Magic of Love
Filed Under About Love | Leave a Comment
Would you like to receive the magic of love? Are you willing to give it? Try this: For one day, consciously make an effort to be loving or kind to everyone you see, with no expectations of receiving anything in return.
For example, compliment, acknowledge, or smile at people at work, home, on the street, and in the stores. Notice how you feel at the end of the day. Your heart will probably feel warmer and bigger. The loving action can make their day as well as yours. It is likely that the people you touch with the magic of love will pass it on to others. You will never know for sure how many people’s lives you have touched with these simple, free, kind acts. Just trust that you are making a difference.
It worked for my client Jerry, a thirty-six-year-old computer engineer. He was surprised when I suggested that he try the experiment. The lonely, single man was complaining to me that people are so mean and nasty. Obviously, Jerry had low self-esteem and poor relationship skills.

Gym Love
Filed Under Irony | Leave a Comment
The place is hot and steamy, pulsing with the beat of blaring music and gyrating bodies. You see her working it across the crowded floor, and you have to meet her. A brilliant idea: you’ll buy her a drink. But wait a second – that only works in night clubs, and you’re at a health club. So while you could send a 20 oz. Tropical Xtremo Gatorade her way, that probably won’t produce the intended result, no matter how important it is to replenish fluids during strenuous exercise. What do you do?
Gyms notoriously attract eye-catching people. There’s no greater concentration of sinewy muscles and tight, skimpy clothing anywhere… except maybe the adult thriller section of your local Blockbuster Video. Read more

In our series on Love the earth, we look for ways to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, which increase carbon emissions, ways to decrease pollution and ways to reduce harm to nature, by reducing open mining, deforestation.
Many of these methods are now technologically possible, although often there is a cost to be paid, or a lifestyle change to be made.
In terms of power consumption, alternatives include solar power, wind power, hydro power. Nuclear power is capable of producing a huge amount of energy from a small amount of material, but the potential harm that nuclear waste can do to an environment still renders it as undesirable compared to other forms of energy generation.
Solar power, for one, is easily available. If factored into the design of a house, a few solar panels costing a few thousand dollars may built into the roof, where sun is readily available, or to shade a pavilion. Remember that it connected to a battery array which can store power for the house, these panels can be continuously generating power, clean power that will not create carbon emissions.
These panels can be obtained from places like Home Depot. Or if you are looking for much larger arrays to generate more electricity, google solar power for specialist companies which will be able to supply arrays that will be able to generate 10kW/h or more.
Remember, sunlight is ubiquitous. And with improving technology, solar power can be generated even in low light conditions. All the more reason to do your part to save the environment.

To love is to sacrifice
Filed Under About Love | Leave a Comment
Love requires a sacrifice, of time, patience, for some, even blood or a kidney. Oftentimes money is involved, and gifts. But most of all, love requires a sacrifice of love. To love someone is to give freedom to him or her, despite every fibre in your body straining to hold on tight. It involves thinking about that someone day and night, much like a crush, only for much much much longer. Love goes two ways – one sided, or unrequited love – is little more than just so much pain.
Love, for all it stands for, flies in the face of logic – in the exact opposite direction. Love requires faith, and hope. Those who seek to understand, will never understand until they learn to trust in that which they cannot ever hope to know.
To love is to give wholly of oneself.

Bush and Sarkozy share the love
Filed Under Political | Leave a Comment
Seems like Presidents Bush and Sarkozy are having a cosy get-together up in Maine, over lunch and boating in scenic Walker’s Point. Is that good? Probably.
Now, we’re just waiting for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to end. There’s lots of variables involved in that, the terrorists being a major one. But if everyone were to just get back to their end, stop stomping on each other’s garden, perhaps less people would die and we could all get along merrily.
